History of the Navy Herringbone

The construction of clothes has been fascinating to me since the beginning of my studies in Milan. I love construction challenges that require in-depth consideration of how to translate a given design into patterns, then into fabrics, which I finally combine into a 3D object ready to wear. This jacket was such a challenge, specifically the element of the lapel that disappears imperceptibly into the pleat. At first glance, this model seems to be a classic elegant jacket. But that would be too easy. If you look closely, you can see a slight asymmetry - regular skirts on one side, and a disappearing flap on the other. The asymmetry is additionally emphasized by a decorative lockstitch and the inside of one of the pockets sewn in a contrasting navy blue color.
